Lake Shore Drive Condo - Full Renovation (2024 - 2025)

In 2024, Senga Architects was approached to help with combining and morphing two condo units of a 20th century Lake Shore Drive high rise together. The owner had an extensive and personal idea of the home he wanted, with a chief goal to maximize open space along the East exterior, capitalizing on the view of Lake Michigan. Secondary was a thorough examination of the spaces needed for a comfortable and productive life. Spaces reserved for home life, work, and entertaining were carefully arranged and zoned and discussed to serve the client’s life.

As the project Architect, I worked closely with the client and their assistant to develop numerous options over the next year, iterating on everything from the overall layout to the details and arrangement of each space as it developed. This also required producing creative solutions to resolve conflicts between the design goals and the existing building systems and Association requirements.
